The Plague of Fake Passion

by | May 17, 2026

Fake passion is easy to spot. It relies on a predictable script: just the right buzzwords mixed with a perfect combination of Gary V quotes. It is a narrative engineered to tell the world that a project is moving at 100 MPH and demands a 100-hour workweek, claiming nothing will stop the progress until the goal is reached.

But the reality tells a different story. The reality is weekend farmers’ markets, doom-scrolling, and Netflix binges. There is zero substance backing up the shit coming out of people’s mouths.

Passion is doing something so hard that it becomes the oxygen required to breathe.

Look at what true urgency demands. If a family was kidnapped and the baseline requirement to keep them alive was finding $100,000 in cash before they were killed, the response would not involve distractions, blaming others, excuses, or stepping away.

Every second, every thought, and every action would be forced toward that single outcome. Failure is not an option when the stakes are life and death.

That is the exact standard required when trying to build a dream.

That is the level of drive that matters.

True passion cannot be faked, and the superficial version is completely transparent.
